The subject of the competition is the design of an architectural solution for a football stadium for FC Baník Ostrava, a.s., which will meet UEFA criteria for the highest category of stadium enabling the organisation of international matches in all categories of football. The new stadium, with significant, larger-than-regional importance, aims to bring the game closer to the fans and create the best possible spectator experience.
The contracting authority expects the project to result in a structure that meets contemporary environmental, operational, and accessibility standards, integrating seamlessly into the surrounding urban environment.
The new stadium is expected to be certified according to the BREEAM standard and will showcase the latest advancements and technologies in sustainability and energy efficiency. Its operational design and facilities will allow everyone, regardless of age or disability, to fully experience football, while also striving for unrestricted movement throughout the stadium.
Additionally, outside of matchdays, the stadium will become a part of city life through supplementary activities such as the football club museum, a variety of services, and the hosting of tours.
