SO – IL is a critically-acclaimed architecture practice based in Brooklyn, New York. Founded by Florian Idenburg and Jing Liu in 2008, we are a diverse team of architects and designers who are dedicated to the creation of exceptional, highly-innovative buildings, objects and spaces. We share a future-oriented mindset, and strive to create memorable architecture that energizes and enriches the broader community. Our work is characterized by a high quality of design, the unique use of materials, and a sensitive and creative response to the local environment.
Currently, we are seeking 2-3 highly-motivated and proactive interns to join our office. The internship will start from May 2025, for 3-6 months.
Position Description
- Perform design studies at the direction of the design team
- Undertake a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural techniques
- Assist in the production and development of necessary documents, drawings, models, images, etc. related to the design and building process
- Provide general administrative support and contribute to the practice as a whole, including the materials library and model shop
Prerequisites
- Current, continuing students in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s program for architecture or related field
- Must have high proficiency in: Rhino, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite
- Advantageous software proficiency: Revit, Grasshopper, Advanced rendering software
- Physical modelling skills required, including digital fabrication, wood, metal and foam, as well as organizing and maintaining a model shop
