The city of Irpin and its State Tax University suffered immense damage during the early weeks of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022. As the war reached the region, Russian forces inflicted significant destruction, including severe damage to the university’s Main Campus building. Despite temporary repairs enabling classes to resume, the need for a complete reconstruction of the central administrative building is critical.
This architectural competition seeks innovative and sustainable proposals for redesigning the Main Campus of State Tax University. The design must inspire future leaders, integrate seamlessly with the Irpin community, and establish the university as a scientific, educational, and cultural hub. With over 5,000 students relying on the university for education and community support, the rebuild will provide hope and resilience for the region.
Participants are invited to submit proposals that:
- Present a welcoming, contextually appropriate, and innovative entrance to the campus.
- Incorporate energy-efficient, community-resilient, and sustainable designs.
- Ensure accessibility for all, including veterans with physical limitations.
- Provide adaptable spaces for learning and collaboration.
- Embrace modern trends in educational architecture while remaining economically feasible.
Key Objectives:
- Design an inspiring and functional main campus building aligned with contemporary educational needs.
- Create a campus space that interacts with and integrates into the broader community.
- Develop a sustainable, energy-efficient, and cost-effective structure using local materials.
- Ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all population groups.
The winning proposal will be evaluated on a 100-point scale, considering criteria such as vision and form, equity strategies, sustainability, economic feasibility, and site strategy.
